This is a super easy dish with just a few ingredients that I made to get my kids to eat greens. With each bite, you’ll experience an irresistible crunch of the crispy exterior that gives way to tender, perfectly cooked green beans.
Rinse the green beans thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Ensure that the ends are trimmed.Pro Tip: Make sure to pat them dry thoroughly to get rid of excess moisture that can hinder the crisping process.
Pour vegetable oil into a deep saucepan until it reaches a depth of about 2 inches. Heat the oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the green beans until they are crisp-tender and start to blister. Transfer the fried green beans to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Repeat this process in batches until all the green beans are fried.Pro Tip: Avoid overcrowding. Fry the green beans in small batches, allowing enough space for them to fry evenly.
Drain the oil and sauté the garlic over medium heat until fragrant.
Toss in the green beans. Sprinkle salt and mix until they are coated evenly. Serve immediately as a delicious side dish.
Optional step: Sprinkle red pepper flakes or chilli powder for some added heat.
