Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, five-spice powder, sugar and water. This will be the glaze for the chicken.Pro Tip: Taste as you go and adjust the amount of ingredients to your liking.
Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides and cook over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Then, set them aside.Pro Tip: To avoid hot oil spitting at you while cooking, pat dry your chicken thighs with a paper towel before frying.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour in the garlic soy sauce glaze. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
Add back the chicken and coat it evenly. Let the chicken rest in the glaze for 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld together.
Transfer the garlic soy sauce glazed chicken to a serving platter and enjoy!
Optional step: Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish, if desired.
